The 2016 ERC Consolidator Grants laureates

Distinctions

The ERC announced the awarding of its Consolidator Grants to 314 top researchers in Europe.

The funding, worth a total of €605 million, will give them a chance to have far-reaching impact on science and beyond. The grants fall under the 'Excellent Science' pillar of Horizon 2020, the EU's research and innovation programme.

5 French Mathematicians were awarded a ERC Consolidator Grant:

  • Anna ERSCHLER, Département de Mathématiques et Applications (DMA) (CNRS, ENS de Paris), for her project "GrolsRan" : Growth, Isoperimetry and Random walks on Groups;
  • Colin GUILLARMOU, Laboratoire de mathématiques d'Orsay (LMO) (CNRS, Université Paris-Sud), for his project "IPFLOW" : Inverse Problems and Flows;
  • Mathieu LEWIN, Centre de recherches en mathématiques de la décision (CEREMADE) (CNRS, Université Paris Dauphine), for his project "MDFT" : Mathematics of Density Functional Theory;
  • Gabriel PEYRÉ, Département de Mathématiques et Applications (DMA) (CNRS, ENS de Paris), for his project "NORIA" : Numerical Optimal tRansport for ImAging;
  • Jérémie SZEFTEL,  Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions (LJLL) (CNRS, Université Paris Diderot, Université Pierre et Marie Curie), for his project "EPGR" : The Evolution Problem in General Relativity.
