Elections at the General Assembly of the IMU
The General Assembly of the International Mathematical Union, held in Helsinki on July 3-4, 2022, elected:
- Hiraku Nakajima, University of Tokyo, President of IMU,
- Christoph Sorger, Nantes University, General Secretary,
- Ulrike Tillmann, University of Oxford, Vice-President,
- Tatiana Toro, University of Washington, Vice-President.
Furthermore, Ludovic Rifford, Université Côte d'Azur, was elected Secretary for Policy of the Commission for Developing Countries.
The INSMI warmly congratulates them.
Christoph Sorger is a specialist in algebraic geometry, professor at Nantes Université, a member of the Laboratoire de mathématiques Jean Leray (CNRS/Nantes Université). He was the director of the INSMI from 2013 to 2017.
Ludovic Rifford is a specialist in analysis and dynamics. He is professor at Côte d'Azur University, member of the Laboratoire Jean-Alexandre Dieudonné (CNRS/Université Côte d'azur). He was executive director of the Centre international de mathématiques pures et appliquées (CIMPA) from 2016 to 2020.
