IMU celebrates its 100th anniversary in Strasbourg
The International Mathematical Union (IMU) celebrates its centenary on September 27 and 28 in Strasbourg. It is indeed on the occasion of the International Congress of Mathematics of 1920, in the same city, that the IMU was founded.
Initially scheduled for September 2020, the celebration has been postponed to this fall. While the venue is a return to its roots, the event will illustrate the evolution of IMU over the century.
The celebration is jointly organized by IMU, colleagues from the University of Strasbourg and the French National Committee for Mathematics (CNFM). The variety of mathematics and of the men and women who do mathematics is reflected in the program of talks and round tables.
Everything is planned for a great face-to-face event and registration is open again until August 20th.
