Signature of a memorandum of understanding between the CNRS and the Fields Institute
On April 9, 2019, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the Canadian Embassy in France between the Fields Institute and the CNRS.
Canada has three major research institutions in mathematics, the Centre de Recherche en Mathématiques, the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences and the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences. These three institutions annually award the CRM-Fields-PIMS Prize in recognition of outstanding research in the mathematical sciences. It is the most prestigious mathematics award in Canada.
The CNRS has two mixed international units in mathematics with Canada, the UMI PIMS-Europe with the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences and CNRS-CRM with the Centre de Recherche en Mathématiques. On 9 April 2019, it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Fields Institute, to promote mobility.
