Among the 44 grant holders of the ERC Proof of Concept Grant stands the French mathematician Ugo Boscain, Director of Research at the CNRS, for his project "An Artificial Visual Cortex for Image Processing".

ERC Proof of Concept Grants, worth €150,000 each, are open to ERC grant holders only. They constitute top-up funding to explore commercial or innovation potential of the results of ERC-funded researches.
