Thematic Schools 2025 supported by the Insmi

Other

Every year, the CNRS supports around a hundred thematic schools as part of its ongoing training program for staff. Attendance is free of charge, and travel expenses are covered by the CNRS regional delegation.

These high-level scientific schools cover a broad spectrum of CNRS scientific activity. For mathematics, in 2025, Insmi will support 11 thematic schools as a main institute and 4 as a secondary institute. Insmi strongly encourages its permanent and non-permanent staff, researchers and PhD students to participate in these schools. Below is a list of the 11 Insmi schools in chronological order.

  • From January 27 to 31, the Logarithmic and Non-Archimedian Methods in Singularity Theory school will be held at CIRM. This school, in honor of Bernard Teissier, features mini-courses by Maria Angelica Cueto, Arthur Forey and John Ottem.

  • From February 3 to 6, 2025, the WINTERBRAIDS XIV school of low-dimensional topology and braiding groups will be held in Bordeaux. Led by Vincent Florens, speakers will include Erwan Lanneau, Maria Cumplido Cabello, Alexandra Kjuchukova and Erwan Brugallé.

  • A winter school on K-stability will be held at CIRM from March 3 to 7, as part of the Jean Morlet Chair program. It will feature mini-courses by H. Abban, T. Delcroix, E. Denisova, R. Dervan, K. DeVleming, E. Alberdi, K. Fujita, E. Legendre.

  • In June (to be confirmed), the Mathématiques et philosophie contemporaines XII school will be held at Saint-Ferréol, led by Sébastien Maronne. It will feature presentations by Clemens Berger, Valeria Giardino and David Rabouin.

  • From June 16 to 20 at the IHP (Paris), the spin models with kinetic constraints and bootstrap percolation school will feature I. Hartarsky and C Toninelli.

  • From June 16 to 27, a multidisciplinary school on population models will be held in Annot (Alpes de Haute-provence, France). It is part of an Inria thematic semester.

  • From June 23 to 27, IMJ-PRG (Paris) will be holding its summer school, devoted this year to groupoids. Mini-courses will be given by Camille Horbez, Xin Li, Clara Loh and Paolo Piazza.
